Consistent with President Obama's My Brother's Keeper initiative, we are creating the opportunity for 10,000 Black and Hispanic males to complete the Common Black College Application (CBCA) for free. Both rural and urban school districts are experiencing debilitating Counselors to student ratios and severe budget cuts. Consequently, many students are not receiving the counseling and information they need to be adequately prepared to apply and attend college. Black and Hispanic males are impacted the most because of the commonly held perception they are the least likely to go to college.
In order to offset the lack of access and information Black and Hispanic males receive concerning the college application process, EDU, Inc. Representatives will visit over 500 high schools nationwide meeting with students and facilitating the completion of the CBCA. In addition, we are partnering with college access programs nationwide to identify the Black and Hispanic males who will be given the opportunity to complete the CBCA for free.
The CBCA significantly increases the educational options for students by allowing them to receive acceptance letters, financial aid packages and scholarship offers from several different colleges. To date over 100,000 students have utilized the various services provided by EDU, Inc. It is our hope you will join us in this effort by donating to this worthy cause.
